The blockbuster three-team deal involving DeMar DeRozan and Harrison Barnes has been finalized, with the Spurs acquiring Barnes from the Kings and the right to swap first-round picks in 2031. San Antonio also sent RaiQuan Gray to Chicago in exchange for Barnes. Sacramento acquired DeRozan from the Bulls, along with Chris Duarte, two second-round picks, and cash considerations. The Bulls will waive Gray in the trade.
DeRozan's sign-and-trade deal is worth around $76 million over three years, with significant guaranteed money for the first two seasons. The Kings are hard-capped at $178.1 million and will create a trade exception of $5.9 million. DeRozan, a six-time All-Star, will join forces with De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, Malik Monk, and Keegan Murray to lead the Kings in what is expected to be a dynamic offense. The Bulls, meanwhile, are undergoing a roster overhaul, parting ways with key players like Caruso and Drummond as they transition to a younger and more cost-effective team.
