Veteran point guard Kyle Lowry has decided to return to the Philadelphia 76ers on a one-year deal, leaving the New York Knicks to cross him off their list of potential acquisitions. The terms of the agreement are still unclear, but ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Lowry's agent and Philadelphia's president of basketball operations had intensified discussions in recent days. The Knicks, already strong in Villanova talent, missed out on the 38-year-old guard who had been listed as a possible target for them in free agency. Lowry previously played for the Miami Heat before joining the 76ers last season, where he averaged 8.0 points and 4.6 assists per game. Philadelphia has been active in the offseason, adding players like Paul George and Eric Gordon, while the Knicks made moves like trading for Mikal Bridges and selecting Tyler Kolek in the draft to bolster their roster.
