Rumors out of China suggest that Apple's upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will feature faster charging capabilities than their predecessors. The current iPhone 15 models can charge at up to 27W with the appropriate adapter and up to 15W wirelessly with MagSafe chargers. However, the new Pro models are rumored to support 40W wired fast charging and 20W MagSafe charging. This upgrade is said to address the issue of longer charging times caused by larger battery capacities in the new devices. These rumors are consistent with earlier reports of stacked battery technology in the iPhone 16 lineup, which can lead to higher capacity and longer battery life. As Apple's flagship devices are expected to be unveiled in mid-September, the speculation around improved charging capabilities has gained traction once again.
