Latest Update: Tee Higgins' Long-Term Contract Extension Negotiations Ongoing Ahead of Monday Deadline

Monday marked the deadline for NFL players who received franchise tags to sign long-term contracts with their teams, and it appears wide receiver Tee Higgins will not be extending his stay with the Bengals. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media confirmed that Higgins will not be signing a multi-year deal with the team, meaning he will play out the year under the franchise tag, earning $21.816 million. Higgins will be the only player to do so this season, as several others, including Jaguars edge rusher Joshua Hines-Allen and Ravens defensive tackle Justin Madubuike, have already signed long-term deals. With no agreement in place, Higgins may become a free agent after the 2024 season, potentially closing the chapter on his time in Cincinnati as he joins fellow wideout Ja’Marr Chase in contract negotiations.
