Analogue has unveiled four new limited-edition Analogue Pocket handhelds encased in anodized aluminum, each costing $500. These precision CNC’d devices come in natural, noir, black, and indigo colors, and go on sale on July 15, with shipping beginning on July 17. CEO Christopher Taber described them as "nuts" in an email.
The Pocket, which uses FPGA chips to run Game Boy cartridges, has been hugely popular despite its high price. The new aluminum editions follow last fall's Game Boy Color variants. Analogue is known for its console recreations, and is now expanding its lineup with the Pocket Aluminum Editions and a new version of the Nintendo 64.
With the company teasing more Pocket editions to come, collectors and retro enthusiasts can expect even more innovative and high-quality products in the future.
