Mahuchikh and Kipyegon set new world records at Paris meet

At the Meeting de Paris, world champions Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Faith Kipyegon made history with world-record-breaking performances in the high jump and 1500m, respectively. Mahuchikh achieved an iconic leap of 2.10m, surpassing the long-standing world record, while Kipyegon clocked 3:49.04 in the 1500m, one of the deepest races ever. Mahuchikh outmatched world indoor champion Nicola Olyaslagers in the high jump, setting a Ukrainian record of 2.07m before breaking the world record with 2.10m. Shortly after, Kipyegon ran a record-breaking 1500m race, defending her title with a time of 3:49.04. The event also saw Djamel Sedjati win in the men’s 800m, with three runners breaking 1:42. Overall, the Meeting de Paris showcased exceptional performances from global champions in various disciplines, setting the stage for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
