Microsoft's July 2024 Patch Tuesday Resolves 142 Vulnerabilities, Including 4 Zero-Day Exploits

Today's Patch Tuesday from Microsoft in July 2024 addresses 142 security flaws, including two zero-day vulnerabilities actively exploited. Five critical vulnerabilities, all remote code execution flaws, have been fixed. Among the vulnerabilities are 26 Elevation of Privilege, 24 Security Feature Bypass, 59 Remote Code Execution, 9 Information Disclosure, 17 Denial of Service, and 7 Spoofing vulnerabilities. Two actively exploited zero-days fixed this month are Windows Hyper-V Elevation of Privilege and Windows MSHTML Platform Spoofing vulnerabilities. Two publicly disclosed flaws also addressed are.NET and Visual Studio Remote Code Execution and Arm: Systematic Identification and Characterization of Proprietary Prefetchers. Updates for Windows 11 and Windows 10 are available. Notable contributions were from Haifei Li of Check Point Research and Radek Zikmund of Microsoft. This month's Patch Tuesday also saw updates from other vendors, making it a crucial security update for all users.
