Apple has introduced a Check In feature in iOS 17, allowing users to alert loved ones when they arrive home safely. This function is now expanding to the Apple Watch through watchOS 11, enabling users to not only use it within the Messages app but also in the Workout app. By integrating Check In with Apple Watch, users can notify contacts of their workout completion or inform them when they start a walk or run. The feature automatically sends alerts in case of unexpected delays, providing detailed information such as location, route, battery level, and cellular service status. Moreover, the addition of Check In Reminders in the settings allows users to receive prompts for sending a Workout Check In during outdoor activities. Although watchOS 11 is currently in developer beta, the public release in the fall is anticipated to revolutionize safety protocols for Apple Watch users.
