New Development: Latest Model of Four-Cylinder Supra Discontinued
Tech & AI | June 28, 2024, 4:43 p.m.
In a surprising move, Toyota has decided to discontinue the entry-level four-cylinder model of the iconic Supra, just three years after introducing it in 2019. The decision comes after lackluster sales in 2023 and the company's focus on streamlining the Supra lineup for the 2025 model year. The 2024 Supra 2.0, powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, offered respectable performance with 255 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of about 5.0 seconds. Now, the Supra lineup will solely consist of the six-cylinder model, available in 3.0 and 3.0 Premium trims, with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine delivering 382 horsepower and impressive acceleration. However, buyers should be prepared for a slight price increase, with the 2025 Supra starting at $57,335 with destination fees included. Toyota's decision reflects the evolving market demands and the company's commitment to offering high-performance vehicles.
