Apple Pay Later, the service introduced by Apple just two years ago, has been discontinued. This decision came only seven months after its launch in the US. The tech giant announced that loans through Affirm will be integrated directly into Apple Pay later this year, rendering Pay Later redundant. TechCrunch reports that Pay Later is no longer an option when checking out with Apple Pay, and new loans will not be accepted. However, existing payment plans can still be accessed through the Wallet app. Apple revealed that a new global installment loan offering will be available later this year, allowing users worldwide to access installment loans through credit and debit cards when using Apple Pay. This move marks the end of Apple Pay Later in the US, as the company shifts focus towards this new installment loan service.
