This technology allows users to charge their smartwatch using their smartphone's battery wirelessly. The absence of this feature is due to a new sensor design that has changed the shape of the back glass of the watches, increasing the distance between the internal charging coil and the wireless charger. As a result, attempting to use an older charger may result in slow charging and excessive heat generation. Samsung recommends using only the new and included wireless charger that comes with the watches. This design change may be a dealbreaker for some potential buyers who value the convenience of wireless power sharing.
