Harvey Weinstein is facing new allegations of "violent sexual assaults" in New York following the overturning of his previous conviction earlier this year. Assistant District Attorney Nicole Blumberg revealed at a recent court hearing that the alleged assaults are within the statute of limitations, but did not provide a timeline for potential charges. Weinstein, who is already facing a retrial, continues to deny all allegations and claims the new investigations are merely a delay tactic. His attorney, Arthur Aidala, highlighted Weinstein's deteriorating health conditions while in solitary confinement at Rikers Island jail. The original 2020 conviction was seen as a significant victory for the #MeToo movement, but was overturned due to prosecutorial misconduct. A retrial is set to begin in November, with Weinstein also facing a separate sentence in California. The disgraced filmmaker has denied all accusations from the more than 80 women who have come forward against him.
