Author George R.R. Martin has given fans of Game of Thrones a promising update on a potential new series. The Princess Nymeria prequel, Ten Thousand Ships, is back in progress with a new writer, Eboni Booth, who won a Pulitzer Prize in May. The series, set 1,000 years before Game of Thrones, follows warrior queen Princess Nymeria and the Rhoynars as they travel from Essos to Dorne. HBO had previously commissioned five prequel ideas, with Brian Helgeland working on a version based on Nymeria's story. Despite some ideas being shelved, HBO is still investing in new Thrones content, with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms also set to join the lineup. Fans can look forward to more exciting and immersive stories from the Game of Thrones universe in the near future.
