Nike reported its slowest annual sales growth in 14 years, with challenges leading to a lowered outlook for the current year. The finance chief highlighted the need for repositioning to drive long-term growth. Despite beating earnings estimates, Nike fell short on revenue, with sales declining in the fourth quarter. Issues included a decline in lifestyle business and weaker online sales in April and May. Nike's performance business couldn't offset these losses. While sales in China exceeded expectations, North America and Europe saw lower-than-expected revenue. Asia Pacific and Latin America also fell slightly short of estimates. The company's outlook for fiscal 2025 remains uncertain, with revenue expected to decline in the first half of the year. Nike is taking actions to become more competitive and drive sustainable growth while facing challenges in various geographical segments.
