Novak Djokovic faced a chorus of boos from the crowd at Centre Court on Monday, despite defeating his opponent, Holger Rune. The 24-time Grand Slam singles champion expressed his displeasure with the lack of respect from some fans, acknowledging they were mainly supporting Rune. Djokovic, a veteran of more than 20 years on the tour, called out the behavior as disrespectful and highlighted the importance of focusing on the fans who appreciate and love tennis.
Though Djokovic cruised to victory over Rune, he couldn't ignore the negative reaction from some spectators. He sarcastically thanked those who disrespected him and confidently shrugged off the hostility, declaring that he has faced more intense environments in the past. Djokovic's response to the mixed reception showcased his resilience on and off the court, as he advanced to the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the 15th time.
