Denver Nuggets' first-round pick DaRon Holmes II, a 6-foot-10 center out of the University of Dayton, is expected to sit out the season due to a torn Achilles. The injury occurred during the Nuggets' NBA Summer League game against the Los Angeles Clippers, where Holmes put up 11 points and seven rebounds. Traded to Denver from Phoenix, Holmes was anticipated to provide valuable bench support. The former Atlantic 10 Conference co-player of the year was known for his scoring and rebounding abilities, averaging 20.4 points and 8.5 rebounds as a junior. The unfortunate injury will prevent Holmes from making his anticipated debut this season, leaving a gap in the Nuggets' lineup.
