Nvidia, previously known for its graphics chips, has now surpassed Microsoft and Apple to become the most valuable public company in the world with a market cap of $3.33 trillion. The chipmaker's shares have skyrocketed over 170% this year, driven by its dominance in AI chips for data centers. Revenue in Nvidia's data center business increased by 427% to $22.6 billion, accounting for 86% of total sales. This rise is attributed to the surge in generative artificial intelligence, propelling Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's net worth to $117 billion. Microsoft, a close competitor in the AI market, has also seen a boost in shares thanks to its integration of OpenAI's AI models into its products. With its recent 10-for-1 stock split, Nvidia aims to secure a spot in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, solidifying its position as a tech powerhouse in the industry.
