Franz Wagner, the eighth overall pick by the Orlando Magic in 2021, has signed a massive five-year, $224 million contract extension with the team. This deal, a maximum rookie extension, could potentially be worth up to $269 million if he earns All-NBA honors. Wagner, known for his consistency as a starter, averaged 19.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game last season. In his three seasons in Orlando, he has only missed 15 games and has played over 7,000 minutes. Wagner, alongside his brother Mo Wagner, is one of 13 sets of brothers in the NBA and one of three that play for the same team. The duo led Germany to a gold medal at the 2023 FIBA World Cup and is expected to represent their country at the Olympics in Paris.
