Pixel 8a Users May Not Have Access to Android 15's Audio Sharing Feature

The Android Open Source Project hints that the upcoming audio sharing feature in Android 15 will not be available on the Pixel 8a or older Pixel devices. This feature allows users to broadcast audio to nearby devices through Bluetooth LE Audio. While devices like the Pixel 8a technically support LE Audio, Google does not seem interested in enabling the necessary broadcasting roles. This means users will likely need complicated setups or devices from the same brand to share audio privately. The Pixel 8a and Pixel 7 series support LE Audio unicasts but may miss out on broadcast support. The feature was tested on a Pixel 8 Pro by manually enabling LE Audio broadcast support. Despite being a simple process, the make-file for the Pixel 8a lacks support for these properties, indicating potential limitations for the device in the future.
