Over 100 comedians from around the world gathered at the Vatican to meet with Pope Francis and spread serenity and smiles. Notable names like Chris Rock, Jimmy Fallon, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus attended the star-studded event in Rome. The Pope, known for his recent problematic language, spoke to the crowd sans "f-slurs" and expressed his belief in the power of laughter to unite people. While not every comedian present was Catholic, all were united by their love of making people laugh. The Pope acknowledged the comedians' role in denouncing abuses of power and highlighting issues through humor. Despite facing criticism for his language, especially around LGBTQ+ issues, the Pope was on his best behavior with the comedians. Following the conference, he traveled to Italy to speak to world leaders, including President Joe Biden, at the G7 summit.
