King Charles III and Queen Camilla are scheduled to visit Australia and Samoa in October, despite the King undergoing cancer treatment. The royal couple will undertake engagements in the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales before attending a Commonwealth summit in Samoa. This visit marks the King's first official overseas tour since his cancer diagnosis earlier this year. Due to health reasons, the couple will not visit New Zealand. The decision was made following consultations with the Australian and New Zealand prime ministers. The 75-year-old monarch last visited Australia in 2018 for the Commonwealth Games. While Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has expressed intentions for a vote on becoming a republic, the government has postponed the referendum on the matter. Buckingham Palace confirmed the king's pause in public events for cancer treatment earlier this year, with the monarch returning to engagements in April.
