Samsung made a big push into AI with the Galaxy S24 earlier this year, powering its features with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI models. Despite the buzz around digital assistants like ChatGPT, Bixby didn't receive an upgrade at first. However, Samsung has confirmed that Bixby will be getting a major AI upgrade later this year, powered by their own LLM called Samsung Gauss. TM Roh, CEO of Samsung MX, revealed the company's plans to advance Bixby with Gen AI technology. This move signifies a new direction for Bixby, with hopes of it becoming more intuitive and capable of understanding user commands better. The upgraded Bixby is expected to be showcased with One UI 7.0 and launch with the Galaxy S25 series early next year, aligning with Samsung's commitment to enhance its AI capabilities and provide a more seamless user experience.
