Samsung unveiled a slew of new devices at its recent Unpacked event in Paris, including the Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Watch Ultra. The highlight, however, was the debut of the Galaxy Ring, an AI-powered smart ring. Samsung’s Galaxy AI platform, which integrates Google’s AI technology, was a key focus, offering generative AI capabilities across health, fitness, productivity, and more. The company aims to leverage its AI efforts to drive future device sales, competing with Apple’s upcoming AI software. Samsung’s strategy includes enticing users to upgrade with AI features available on older models, like the S23 and Z Flip 5 series. With 77% of S24 owners already utilizing AI features weekly, Samsung is also considering charging for AI services in the future to boost revenue. As the AI race between Samsung and Apple heats up, both companies are striving to enhance generative AI capabilities to entice users and enhance sales.
