Bubbles, Michael Jackson's former pet chimp, is now living a happy and fulfilling life as an elder primate at the Center for Great Apes sanctuary. At 41 years old and weighing 180 pounds, Bubbles enjoys freedom to explore, nap, and even paint. Despite their once close bond, Bubbles no longer shows a preference for Michael's music over any other. The sanctuary ensures his well-being with regular veterinarian check-ups and interactions with caregivers and other chimps. While the Michael Jackson Estate continues to support Bubbles financially, they do not plan to commemorate the 15-year anniversary of the singer's death. Visits from Michael's attorney and family members have always resulted in sweet encounters with Bubbles, showing that he is thriving in his new environment. Despite their separation, Bubbles is living a content life at the sanctuary, far removed from his past as a celebrity's pet.
