In a recent personal essay for The New York Times Magazine, former Vibe magazine editor-in-chief Danyel Smith revealed shocking allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Smith claimed that Combs threatened her life in 1997 after she refused to show him the magazine covers featuring him as the cover star. Despite knowing of Combs' violent history, Smith felt compelled to feature him on the cover. When Combs demanded to see the covers and was denied, Smith alleged that he threatened to have her "dead in the trunk of a car." Fearing for her safety, Smith and her colleagues devised a plan to protect her from Combs. Eventually, legal action was threatened, prompting Combs to issue an apology. This revelation comes amidst other allegations of violence against Combs, including a recent video showing him assaulting his ex-girlfriend. Combs issued an apology for his behavior, stating, "I make no excuses."
