Snapchill, a coffee company based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, voluntarily recalled nearly 300 canned coffee products due to potential botulism risk. The Food and Drug Administration identified concerns regarding the manufacturing process of low acid canned foods not being filed with the agency. The recalled products, ranging from 7 to 12 oz cans, are sold under various brand names bearing the text “Produced and distributed by Snapchill LLC.” While no illnesses have been reported, consumers are advised to either destroy the product, return it for a refund, or return it to Snapchill directly. Botulism, caused by bacteria producing toxins in food, is a rare but serious illness that can lead to severe food poisoning. Consumers with questions can contact Snapchill via email or phone for assistance.
