Spectrum announced an outage impacting customers across Texas due to a Spectrum tower damaged by Hurricane Beryl. The service interruption affected internet, cable TV, and phone service for thousands in the state. Spectrum crews are working to restore service as quickly as possible. Updates from Spectrum revealed the outage was caused by a third-party infrastructure issue resulting from the hurricane. Concerns grew as area hospitals experienced internet outages, impacting services like call centers. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office confirmed a damaged tower in Houston was the cause of the outage and warned those with Spectrum phone service may have trouble contacting 911. Despite over 31,000 reports of outages, it remains unclear if Hurricane Beryl caused the issue. Spectrum has since restored service to those affected by the outage.
