Stellantis, the parent company of various popular car brands, is recalling nearly 1.2 million vehicles in the U.S. and Canada due to a software glitch that can disable rearview cameras. The recall affects a range of models from Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, and Dodge produced between 2021 and 2023. The company found that the vehicles have radio software that can unexpectedly deactivate the cameras. Stellantis is addressing the issue with an online software update, with over 735,000 vehicles already updated. Owners will receive notifications and instructions on how to proceed. Although there have been no reported injuries or accidents related to this issue, Stellantis is urging owners to comply with the recall to ensure safety. The recall comes at a time when Stellantis reported a decrease in net profits, adding to the challenges as it enters a "turbulent" year.
