Stellantis is issuing a recall for nearly 1.2 million vehicles in the U.S. and Canada to address a software glitch that can disable rearview cameras. The affected vehicles include several popular models such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ram ProMaster vans, and Chrysler Pacifica minivans from the 2022 and 2023 model years. The issue stems from radio software that can unexpectedly turn off the cameras, compromising driver visibility and safety. Stellantis, formerly known as Fiat Chrysler, plans to resolve the problem with an online software update that affected vehicles may have already received. Owners will be notified of the recall through mail notices and should expect a request to accept the update on their media screens. Despite no reported injuries or accidents related to this issue, Stellantis is emphasizing the importance of following the recall instructions to prevent any potential risks on the road.
