Prosecutors presented the formal accusation against him, stemming from an alleged relationship with a 14-year-old girl. Initially facing charges of commercial sexual exploitation and money laundering, Franco now faces a lesser charge of sexual and psychological abuse. Evidence collected includes interviews with the girl and her relatives, as well as messages between Franco and the minor. Franco's lawyer in the United States has not commented, as Franco has not been formally notified of the charges.
