Target Stores to Stop Accepting Personal Checks for Payments Beginning July 15th

Starting July 15, Target will no longer be accepting personal checks for purchases due to low volumes. The retailer has made efforts to inform customers in advance for a smooth checkout experience. However, customers can still pay using Target Circle Cards, cash, digital wallets, SNAP/EBT, buy now pay later services, and credit and debit cards. With personal check usage on the decline, only 3% of payments were made via checks in 2023. Other major retailers like Aldi and Whole Foods Markets are also not accepting personal checks. Target's decision aligns with the changing payment landscape and emphasizes the various payment options available to customers.
