The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has ordered Tesla to address ongoing air quality violations at its Fremont Factory in Northern California, specifically stemming from paint shop operations. With over 112 notices of violations since 2019, Tesla's emissions are said to pose a significant risk to public health and the environment. The Air District is requiring Tesla to hire a third-party consultant to evaluate and make recommendations for a plan to address the violations, subject to approval by the Hearing Board. This comes after Tesla previously agreed to pay a $1 million fine and install a solar roof project as part of a settlement for violations found in May 2021. The order emphasizes the need for prompt and effective action to prevent harmful emissions and comply with air quality regulations, ensuring the protection of those living near the facility.
