Tesla has filed a lawsuit against former machinery supplier Matthews International, accusing the company of stealing trade secrets related to its battery production. Matthews, however, claims that it is Tesla who is trying to steal its technology. This isn't the first time Tesla has gone to court over alleged trade secret theft, with previous cases involving battery production and Dojo technology. According to Tesla, Matthews was a supplier for its proprietary dry-electrode battery manufacturing technology, but breached confidentiality agreements by incorporating Tesla's technology into patent filings and selling it to competitors. The electric carmaker is seeking damages of $1 billion. Matthews denies the claims, calling them without merit and accusing Tesla of trying to steal its dry electrode technology. The lawsuit highlights the fierce competition in the electric vehicle market and the importance of protecting valuable intellectual property.
