Our recent research study on the effects of technology on children's language development reveals concerning findings. Through extensive observation and data analysis, we have found that prolonged screen time, particularly with devices such as smartphones and tablets, is linked to delays in language acquisition among young children. The constant exposure to screens is hindering crucial language learning opportunities that occur through face-to-face interactions and verbal communication. This poses a significant threat to children's cognitive and social development, as well as their future academic success. Our study underscores the importance of limiting screen time for children and promoting more interactive and language-rich environments. Parents and caregivers must take proactive measures to mitigate the negative impact of technology on children's language skills to ensure they reach their full potential.
