UPS has decided to sell its Coyote Logistics division to RXO for just over $1 billion, which is less than what it paid for the freight-brokerage company in 2015. This strategic move is aimed at allowing UPS to focus more on its core package-delivery business. Once the sale is completed, UPS plans to update its financial outlook accordingly. By selling Coyote Logistics, UPS CEO Carol Tome believes the company can shift its focus back to its core operations. This decision comes as part of UPS's efforts to streamline its business. RXO, a freight broker based in Charlotte, North Carolina, will significantly increase its business size and become the third-largest freight broker in North America after acquiring Coyote. This sale marks a shift in UPS's strategy, as it looks to enhance its package delivery services through this divestiture.
