Team USA Basketball narrowly defeated Australia in an Olympic warmup game, despite a late rally from the Boomers. The US team held a large lead but saw it dwindle in the fourth quarter before securing a 98-92 victory. High turnovers were a concern for Team USA, and star Devin Booker acknowledged that such performances will not lead to a gold medal. While the team boasts tremendous talent, chemistry and effort have been points of weakness. Coach Steve Kerr admitted the need for quick adaptation and team-building ahead of the Olympics. Anthony Davis led the US team with 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Australian player Jock Landale stood out with 20 points. The game highlighted the importance of defense and hustle for both teams as they prepare for the upcoming competition.
