In addition, WhatsApp has increased the limit for video call participants to up to 32 people across devices, aligning with Apple's FaceTime capabilities. A new speaker spotlight feature has also been introduced, automatically highlighting the participant who is speaking during a video call. Furthermore, WhatsApp parent Meta has introduced the Meta Low Bitrate (MLow) codec to improve call reliability, providing higher audio quality with lower computational complexity.
