Meta has recently announced three new features for WhatsApp's video calling functionality, enhancing the user experience on Mac and Windows devices. These updates include the ability to add up to 32 people in a video call, screen sharing with audio, and Speaker Spotlight, which highlights the speaker in a video call.
Previously, WhatsApp only allowed up to 16 people on a video call using Windows and 8 people on Mac. Now, both platforms support up to 32 participants, making it easier to connect with larger groups. Additionally, the inclusion of audio with screen sharing enhances the viewing experience during calls, allowing users to share videos with sound.
Speaker Spotlight adds a visual element to video calls by highlighting the speaker with a white outline, making it easier to follow conversations. These updates demonstrate Meta's commitment to improving communication tools and will be rolled out to users in the coming weeks.
