Which Apple Devices Will No Longer Receive Software Updates?

Apple is known for providing software updates for its devices for many years after their release, but eventually, some devices become too old to be supported. In 2024, iOS 18 will be available for all iPhones currently running iOS 17, except for the iPhone X. Exciting AI features in iOS are limited to the iPhone 15 Pro series, leaving other users without them for now. Unfortunately, the Apple Watch Series 4 and 5, as well as the first-generation Apple Watch SE, won't be able to upgrade to watchOS 11. Similarly, some MacBooks like the MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch) won't get macOS 15 Sequoia. Not all iPads will receive iPadOS 18, as devices like the 6th generation iPad and certain iPad Pro models will miss out. Despite the end of major updates, Apple may still provide security updates for these devices in the future.
