After initially experiencing lag and lack of native apps, the Windows on Arm experience has greatly improved over the past five years. With the latest Qualcomm processors and Microsoft's push for ARM64 native apps, Windows 11 on Arm now functions like a regular laptop. Emulated apps such as Photoshop, Dropbox, and Zoom run smoothly, thanks to Microsoft's new Prism emulator, which shows a significant performance improvement compared to earlier versions. However, some heavy apps like Premiere Pro and Blender still struggle with performance on Arm-based devices. Gaming on Arm is also lacking due to anticheat software limitations. While compatibility issues with apps like Google Drive and VPNs persist, overall app compatibility on Windows on Arm is steadily improving. With the increasing availability of ARM64 native apps, the transition to Windows on Arm seems promising for the future.
